Nobody's got time to spend 40 hours on a single game from the 1980s. Why shouldn't you be able to play a game in a way that adds to your enjoyment of it? Especially with older games, like for the NES and SNES, that were created to be huge time sinks and grindfests to cover for a lack of space for content and story, a fastforward feature is a godsend.
